Dr. George S. Mayweather, DDS

Dr. George S. Mayweather is the son of George Mayweather, a retired Aircraft Mechanic who served for 24 years in the United States Air Force. The Mayweather family settled in Rancho Cordova in 1974. Dr. Mayweather is a middle child who
graduated from Cordova Sr. High School in 1979, Home of the Mighty Lancers – Go Big Red! As a Lancer, Dr. Mayweather played football for the Lancers his senior year as wide receiver, #88. He also ran track-n-field in his sophomore, junior and senior years as a hurdler and a 4 x 400 relay sprinter. Dr. Mayweather matriculated to University of California, Davis and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology in 1984. He then matriculated to Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington DC where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1989.

After taking 3 weeks off he began his postgraduate Orthodontic Residency in June of 1989 and obtained his Proficiency Certificate in orthodontics in May of 1991. After spending approximately 1 year working in dentistry in the Washington DC area, Dr. Mayweather returned to the Sacramento area to obtain his California Dental License, which he did in the summer of 1992. Dr. Mayweather was the 1st Black American Orthodontist in the Sacramento region, a pioneer. He began practicing orthodontics in December 1992 in the South Sacramento area. In August of 1996, he opened the doors of his private practice in Elk Grove.

Our Team

Our team consists of professional clinical and front office assistants. Our present orthodontic team has been together for more than 3 years. Any questions or concerns about your orthodontic care can be answered by one and all. When you come into our office we will greet you with a friendly and warm smile and caring attitude.
